A Yucca Valley family still has their home after smoke from a fire destroyed the home’s contents early Friday morning. County Fire Battalion Chief Donnie Viloria said firefighters from Yucca Valley, Joshua Tree, and Yucca Mesa were called to the home in the 56700 block of Anaconda Drive at 7:30 a.m. Viloria said heavy smoke was pouring from the home, and one resident was wheeling out a family member in a wheelchair when firefighters arrived. All occupants got out of the home safely. Firefighters had to make three holes in the roof to vent the smoke.
