When 30-year-old Zakary Whitehill admitted to a Sheriff’s deputy shortly after midnight last Saturday that he “should not be driving” it came as no surprise. According to the Sheriff’s report, the Joshua Tree resident had been doing donuts in the dirt lot just north of Del Taco on the highway in Twentynine Palms when his white Nissan truck hit a wall causing the airbags to deploy. Zakary Whitehill admitted he had been drinking alcohol and was arrested for investigation of driving under the influence and taken to Morongo Basin Jail where he was cited and released.
