A Twentynine Palms man who completed drug court last year was arrested Tuesday afternoon, accused of selling drugs. Marcelino Nieto, 32, was stopped by a Sheriff’s deputy near Verbena Drive and East Court Way in Twentynine Palms about 4:45 p.m. Tuesday. During the pedestrian check, the deputy found a controlled substance, a scale, $1000 in cash, and other evidence that Nieto was selling drugs. In July, Nieto presented evidence to Judge Rodney Cortez that he had successfully completed drug court, and the felony drug charge against him was reduced to a misdemeanor. Marcelino Nieto was arrested on investigation of unlawful sale of speed, booked into the Morongo Basin Jail, with his bail set at $50,000.
