Over the last week, drones have been spotted flying in restricted airspace over the Marine Corps Air-Ground Combat Center in Twentynine Palms, according to Marine Corps officials. Operating any commercial, off-the-shelf unmanned aircraft, including quadcopters or fixed-wing aircraft, is strictly prohibited on base without express permission of the Combat Center’s commanding general. Flying drones in restricted airspace is illegal,
hazardous, and places Marines and aircraft in potentially life-threatening situations. If you see a drone flying in or near the Combat Center, call 760-830-6535, 24 hours a day.
