A man escaped serious injury following a single-vehicle rollover crash in Morongo Valley Monday afternoon. According to Morongo Valley Fire Captain Jeff Rarey, firefighters were notified of the crash at Highway 62 and Fox Trail about 3 p.m. by someone who walked into the station. The unidentified driver was traveling westbound on the highway when he lost control and hit a sign for Church of Morongo and a brick mailbox post with his white SUV. The SUV landed on its roof on top of the mailbox on the south side of the highway. Rarey said the driver was out of the vehicle when firefighters arrived, and suffered only minor scrapes from the crash.
