“Drawing Joshua Trees” at the Creative Cafe today (2/17)

The Creative Cafe returns this week with a drawing program. The Creative Cafe is a weekly drop-in art session hosted by local artist Jillian Sandell. She sets up a different creative activity each week. This week, she turns her eye toward the Western Joshua Tree, encouraging participants to practice drawing the trees that dot our landscape. She says she will bring in a lot of different reference images of Joshua Trees for us to look at – both images of actual Joshua Trees in the wild and stylized renditions of Joshua Trees used in logos and ads.
The Creative Cafe is open to all ages and skill levels, and donations are accepted on a sliding scale.
Wednesday’s session runs from 12:00 noon to 2:00 p.m. at the Food For Thought Cafe in the Joshua Tree Retreat Center. Reservations are not required but donations between $5 and $20 are suggested.
