Theatre 29, director Marty Neider, and musical director Kathryn Ferguson have announced casting for the hilarious musical comedy, “Don’t Hug Me, I’m Pregnant.” The play is set in Bunyan Bay, Minnesota, in a little bar called The Bunyan, owned by Clara and Gunner Johnson. Clara is 8 1/2 months pregnant with their first child. Suddenly, a freak snow storm, a “tsnownami” hits, and they find themselves snowed in. Playing Clara Johnson, the strong-willed co-owner of the bar, is Kylie Robinson. Randy Smith has been cast as Gunner Johnson, a north woods Archie Bunker. Bernice Lundstrom will be portrayed by Leigh-Ann Crummett, an ex-waitress at The Bunyan with dreams of going to Broadway. The dense, harmless, full-of-himself business owner Kanute Gunderson will be played by John Fries. Arvid Gisselsen, a, slick, fast-talking karaoke salesman, has been cast with Jasper Falmog. The hilarious musical-comedy features 17 original songs including, “Babies and Beer,” “If I Only Had a Boy,” “Bun in the Oven,” and, “If Men Had Babies, We’d All Be Extinct.” “Don’t Hug Me, I’m Pregnant” will run from May 6 through June 4 with performances Friday and Saturday at 7:00 p.m. Sunday matinees will be held at 2:30 p.m. May 15 and May 29.
