DON’T FEAR THE LECTURE AT THE HI-DESERT NATURE MUSEUM TOMORROW

Tomorrow’s Science Saturday lecture at the Hi-Desert Nature Museum is nothing to fear, it is about fear itself! Reporter Taylor Thacker explains…
The Hi-Desert Nature Museum continues with their popular education program, Science Saturdays. On Saturday, August 23, from 11:00-11:30 a.m., the topic will be fear. Have you ever experienced acrophobia? If you have a fear of heights, then you certainly have. Join Crystal Mason, Museum Educator, as she explains the concept of fear for this fright-filled Science Saturday. She will describe the biological reaction in the brain that causes fear, how an individual can be conditioned to feel fear, and how you can fight your fears. She will also describe some of the most common fears and some of the odder fears like xanthophobia. It is recommended that children be of school age for this program.
