A local icon has run afoul of the State Fair Political Practices Commission in an unsuccessful run for county supervisor in 2016. Donna Munoz and her campaign committee treasurer Max Hazard are facing a fine of $6,500 on the enforcement agency’s April 19 meeting consent calendar. The commission alleges that the committee, Munoz, and Hazard failed to timely file 24-hour reports, failed to pay expenses from the designated campaign bank account, and made expenditures of campaign funds not related to a political purpose. Munoz characterized the errors in filing as “stupid mistakes” saying all the information was filed but not necessarily on the proper forms. Munoz told Z107.7 News she takes full responsibility for the paperwork errors and will pay the fines assessed.
