DOMESTIC VIOLENCE IN YUCCA VALLEY, TWENTYNINE PALMS, AND JOSHUA TREE

A Yucca Valley woman was arrested Monday after her husband said she bit and scratched him. According to a Sheriff’s report, Darcy Riggin, 35, was arguing with her husband in the 56800 block of Carlyle Drive in Yucca Valley about 1 a.m. Monday. The argument escalated when her husband allegedly grabbed her cell phone. Riggin then jumped on her husband’s back and scratched and bit him, giving him bruising, swelling, and scratch marks to his upper back and torso. Darcy Riggin was arrested for investigation of felony spouse abuse, booked into West Valley Detention Center, with her bail set at $50,000.

A Twentynine Palms man was arrested Friday, accused of beating up his girlfriend. According to a Sheriff’s report, Deandre Dedmon, 21, visited his girlfriend and their child Thursday in the 6000 block of Baileya. The woman had a restraining order placed against Dedmon. Dedmon allegedly wanted to take the child with him when he left, but when his girlfriend objected, he allegedly grabbed her by her hair and hit her head into the bedroom wall and pushed her, all while holding the child. Deputies received a tip about the argument, and a deputy made a welfare check about 12:30 p.m. Saturday. The woman said she had a headache and a bruise by her elbow. Deandre Dedmon was arrested for investigation of felony spouse abuse, booked into the West Valley Detention Center, with his bail set at $50,000.

A Joshua Tree woman was arrested Saturday morning, accused of beating up a man. A resident was walking about 4:30 a.m. near Hillview and El Reposo Avenue in Joshua Tree when he saw a fight between a man and woman, and called deputies. After an investigation, Kimberly Harwood was arrested on suspicion of felony spouse abuse, booked into the West Valley Detention Center, with her bail set at $50,000.
