DOMESTIC VIOLENCE IN LANDERS AND WONDER VALLEY

A Landers man was arrested Tuesday, accused of beating up his girlfriend. According to a Sheriff’s report, a deputy was called to the 1400 block of Wamego Trail in Landers about 10:45 a.m. Tuesday. Cody Sansbury had been arguing with his girlfriend, and after she slapped him, he struck her, causing about 50 bruises on her arms and back. In addition, the deputy determined that the victim had taken out a restraining order against Sansbury, and that he was in violation of its terms. Cody Sansbury was arrested for investigation of spouse abuse, and on warrants for spouse abuse and violating the terms of his probation, booked into the West Valley Detention Center, with his bail set at $50,000.

A Wonder Valley man was arrested Tuesday after his wife said he head-butted her. A Sheriff’s deputy was sent to the 5700 block of Allen Avenue about 2:45 p.m. for a domestic disturbance. Michael O’Brien, 43, said he was arguing with his wife when things escalated, and they began to grapple, and he may have head butted her. The victim said she lost consciousness; she had redness to her nose and neck and swelling to her right temple. Michael O’Brien was arrested for investigation of felony spouse abuse, booked into the Morongo Basin Jail, with his bail set at $50,000.
