Domestic violence call in Yucca Valley results in injured deputy after suspect resists arrest

An alleged domestic violence incident in Yucca Valley escalated when the suspect is said to have resisted arrest and injured a deputy.

At around 3:45 a.m. on Wednesday (March 12), deputies with the San Bernardino Sheriff’s Department responded to a call from a woman saying she was being attacked by her ex-boyfriend in the 7700 block of Hopi Trail in Yucca Valley.

The victim said that her ex-boyfriend, identified by deputies as Christopher Rusconi, 33, was in her home throwing and breaking objects. Deputies arrived, and say they witnessed misdemeanor domestic battery. Deputies say that while attempting to take Rusconi into custody that he resisted arrest and deputies used force to subdue him. The Sheriff’s department said that a deputy received injuries during the arrest.

Christopher Rusconi was arrested on suspicion of resisting an executive officer and is being held at the West Valley Detention Center on $30,000 bail.
