DOGS FIND HUMAN REMAINS IN THE DESERT IN LANDERS

Human remains were found yesterday in Landers. According to Sheriff Corporal Steve Everhart, dogs found a skull and what looks like an arm bone in the desert near a cabin near Wright Road and Bodick Road in Landers. The dogs brought them to their home and their owner called the Sheriff’s Department about 7 a.m. Thursday. The Homicide unit was called in to investigate. Investigators found a driver’s license with the remains that matched that of a man reported missing in San Bernardino County. The coroner is withholding the identity of the man pending notification of next of kin.
