DOG STABBED SATURDAY IN TWENTYNINE PALMS

A dog was stabbed Saturday (April 9) in Twentynine Palms. Around 10 a.m. on April 9, deputies assigned to the Morongo Basin Station – City of Twentynine Palms responded to the 6500 block of Smoke Tree Avenue regarding a possible dog attack. According to a Sheriff’s press release, deputies discovered a Black mixed breed German Shepherd was reportedly off-leash in a front yard when it ran towards a male walking his small dog as they walked on the street. The owner feared the German Shepherd would seriously injure him or his dog. The owner of the small dog retreated and attempted to avoid being attacked as the German Shepherd allegedly opened his mouth to bite. The owner of the small dog removed his knife and defended himself by stabbing the German Shepherd once. Twentynine Palms Animal Control responded and assisted in tending to the wounded Shepherd. All involved parties were contacted during this investigation.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is urged to contact the Morongo Basin Station (760)-366-4175.
