A dog is missing and presumed dead following an early morning fire in Morongo Valley Sunday. According to a Sheriff’s report, 911 was called about 4 a.m. to report a mobile home was fully engulfed in flames in the Valley View Mobile Home Manor in the 10800 block of West Drive. The mobile home was a total loss when firefighters arrived, and so they went on the defensive to keep the fire from spreading to nearby mobile homes. Some homes and a fifth wheel trailer suffered heat damage, but no other homes burned. The resident said his dog died in the fire, but firefighters were not able to find the dog in the ruins. The cause of the fire is undetermined.
