DOG DIES IN YUCCA VALLEY HOUSE FIRE TUESDAY NIGHT

Despite firefighter efforts to resuscitate a dog, it died during a house fire in Yucca Valley Tuesday night. Battalion Chief Bob Evans said firefighters were called to the fire in the 6200 block of Monticello Road at 10:37 p.m. and arrived on scene four minutes later. He said the blaze started in the kitchen, and aggressive efforts by firefighters contained the blaze. The fire was knocked down in about 20 minutes.
