DOG ATTACKS WOMAN IN TWENTYNINE PALMS, IS SHOT DEAD

A dog was shot and killed in Twentynine Palms Saturday afternoon after it attacked a woman and her dog. According to a Sheriff’s report, Alecia Endres and Christina Anderson arrived at a home in the 74500 block of Valle Vista about 3:30 p.m. when two dogs ran at them barking and attacked another dog in the yard. When Endres tried to kick the attacking dog, the dog turned on her and bit her in the left leg. Anderson’s father, Dwight Anderson, came out of the house and shot the attacking dog with a .22-caliber handgun, killing it. The other dog ran off. A description of the dogs was not available. Both County and City Animal Control claim the address of the attack is not in their jurisdiction, and both say they did not send an animal control officer to the location. Anyone with information about the dogs should call Twentynine Palms Animal Control at 760-367-1057.
