DOCUMENTARY “CALLING ALL EARTHLINGS” ABOUT INTEGRATRON OPENS IN LOS ANGELES

A new documentary film about George Van Tassel and the Integratron he built in Landers opened in Los Angeles Friday. With more about this quirky bit of Morongo Basin history, here’s managing editor Tami Roleff.
George Van Tassel, who quit working for Howard Hughes in 1947 and moved his family to live under Giant Rock in Landers, claims he met extra-terrestrials in 1953 who gave him plans to build a rejuvenation machine, that he named the Integratron. But before he can actually turn it on, Van Tassel dies and the plans mysteriously disappear. “Calling All Earthlings” takes a look at Van Tassel, the Integratron, and features appearances by desert locals such as Eric Burdon, Clive Wright, and others.
