Daniel Rodriguez is sought in the stabbing of a Yucca Valley man early Saturday morning.

A Yucca Valley man who was arrested Monday for stabbing another man on Saturday was released from jail Wednesday when the District Attorney’s office dropped the charges. Sheriff’s deputies were called to the 7800 block of Fox Trail about 1:30 a.m. Saturday for a stabbing. Nelson Mora, 42, said he heard people arguing, and when he attempted to intervene, he said Daniel Rodriguez, 23, stabbed him multiple times. Nelson Mora was taken to Desert Hospital with serious injuries, but he is expected to survive. Rodriguez went to the Sheriff’s station Monday to give his side of the story and was arrested for investigation of assault with a deadly weapon. When the District Attorney’s office reviewed the case, the attorney determined it was self-defense and released Daniel Rodriguez and dismissed the case.
