The District Attorney’s office is investigating a case in which a Joshua Tree woman punched and slapped her father because he changed the television channel. According to a Sheriff’s report, Laura Hendrickson, 39, became irate about 12:40 Monday morning when her father changed the channel while her son was watching television. The victim told deputies that Hendrickson punched him and slapped him in the face, breaking his glasses, and then shoved him to the ground. He said when she discovered he called law enforcement, she threw a glass of wine in his face. Hendrickson also allegedly begged her mother to lie to deputies when they arrived at the home in the 7800 block of Quail Springs Road in Joshua Tree. Laura Hendrickson was arrested for investigation of elder abuse and taken to Hi-Desert Medical Center due to medical problems. A report will be sent to the District Attorney’s office to determine if charges should be pressed against Hendrickson.
