DISPUTE OVER MUSIC SENDS ONE TO HOSPITAL, ONE TO JAIL

A disagreement over what music two workers should listen to landed one in the hospital and the other in jail yesterday. According to a Sheriff’s report, about 5 p.m., Filimaua Fatu, 26, of Twentynine Palms, started arguing with his co-worker over the choice of music they should listen to while they were working on the base. The report states Fatu followed the victim outside the garage where they were working, threw him against a vehicle, then punched and kicked him until the man was unconscious. The victim, who suffered large swellings to his head, face and right shoulder, and pain in his kidneys, was taken to the Naval Hospital on board the base for treatment. Filimaua Fatu was arrested for investigation of assault with serious injuries, booked into the Morongo Basin Jail, with his bail set at $100,000.
