A DISPUTE AT AN ILLEGAL MARIJUANA DISPENSARY LEADS TO ASSAULT

A dispute over a car blocking the entrance to a suspected illegal Morongo Valley Marijuana Dispensary led to an arrest Tuesday for assault. According to a Sheriff’s report, Nelson Mora, 35, parked his truck in front of the entrance to Blue Tide Alternative Medicine, in the 49700 block of Twentynine Palms Highway about 10:30 Tuesday morning. When the manager asked Mora to move the truck because it was blocking the entrance to the business, Mora became argumentative. The report states Mora jumped the counter and punched the manager in the head, then grabbed an empty Mason jar and smashed it on the victim’s face, possibly breaking the manager’s nose, as well as cutting and bruising his face. Mora then fled in his truck to his home in the 49200 block of Park Avenue. When Sheriff deputies contact Mora at his residence later that afternoon, he told them he had “blacked out.” Nelson Mora was arrested for investigation of assault with a weapon, booked into the Morongo Basin Jail, with his bail set at $50,000.
