Last night’s special meeting of the Morongo Valley CSD focused on a lengthy discussion on Covington Park’s current irrigation system. The board debated postponing the use of funds that had been approved for a new sprinkler system to investigate unforeseen problems with one of the park’s irrigation pumps. After an hour-long heated discussion between board members and park volunteers, the board moved to allow the installation of the new sprinkler system to continue as planned, but also called for contractor quotes to estimate the cost of repairing or replacing the broken pump.
