DISABLED VETERANS AIR RIFLE COMPETITION COMING UP: REGISTRATIONS AVAILABLE

The Morongo Basin Chapter of the Disabled American Veterans hosts the second annual Air Rifle Shooting Competition to be held on Saturday, October 8, at the Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center in Twentynine Palms. All veterans and their families are welcome; all disabilities will be accommodated so come to compete or enjoy the contests from the shaded bleachers. The day starts at 7 a.m. with check in and range safety instruction; the competition begins at 9 a.m. Prizes, in various categories, will be awarded to individual shooters and to five-member DAV chapter teams. Shooter registration and spectator R.S.V.P. forms are due by 4 p.m. on Tuesday, September 20. Donations will be accepted to help defray costs of prizes, supplies and provided lunch including hotdogs, hamburgers, chips and non-alcoholic beverages. This year’s co-sponsors include the National Rifle Association, the Combat Center Formal Marksmanship Training Center and Z107.7FM community radio.
