A Yucca Valley man and woman on a stolen motorcycle led sheriff deputies on cat-and-mouse chase for more than two hours on Wednesday.

Sheriff’s deputies attempted a traffic stop on a dirt bike near Winters Road and Border Avenue in North Joshua Tree about 5:45 p.m. Charles Goutin, age 31, and 24-year-old passenger, Sonia Zinc-Bitcon, fled from deputies along multiple graded dirt roads west into Landers.

Deputies, the report says, tracked the pair to an abandoned trailer in the 500 block of Landers Lane where they were found hiding in a bedroom about 8 p.m. The stolen dirt bike was in the living room of the trailer. Charles Goutin, who had an outstanding warrant for drug possession, was booked into Morongo Basin Jail and is being held without bail under investigation for suspected felony reckless evading, receipt of stolen property, possession of methamphetamine, and felony violation of probation.

Sonia Zink-Bitcon was arrested for suspected receipt of stolen property. Her bail was set at $25,000.
