In addition to another study session on the review and revision of the Development Code, the Twentynine Palms Planning Commission has a public hearing scheduled for its July 30 meeting. The hearing is an appeal of a decision made last month by Interim Development Director Matt McCleary that a resubmission of a changed project plan constitutes a new project requiring a new application and submittal of plan check fees. The project is a 240-unit apartment complex, whose permit was originally applied for in 2009. The latest changes requested resulted in higher density and a smaller site area. The project is located east of Condor Road, south of and adjacent to the Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center (MCAGCC) boundary, west of Utah Trail and north of Valle Vista Road. The meeting begins at 6 p.m. at City Hall on Adobe Road.
