Sheriff’s deputies are investigating a case in which someone really wanted a muffler and catalytic converter. On Friday, a resident in the 7200 block of Church Street in Yucca Valley called deputies about 9:20 a.m. to report that an unknown suspect had cut through a wrought iron fence on the property. In addition, the suspect cut off and stole the muffler belonging to a van, as well as cut off and stole the catalytic converter on the vehicle. Damage is estimated at about $2,000.
