On March 4, Sheriff’s deputies from the Morongo Basin Station responded to a call of suspicious circumstances at a home in the 6600 block of La Habra Ave in Yucca Valley. Deputies say that the reporting party described a foul odor coming from the house.
Responding deputies found two people deceased in the home. The deceased have been identified by the San Bernardino County Coroner as Dale Patrick Kardiak, 64, and Angela Lyons, 68, both residents of the home in Yucca Valley.
Kardiak’s death has been confirmed as a suicide by the Coroner’s Office. Lyons’ death remains under investigation, but is being investigated by the Sheriff’s Homicide Detail. An initial press release from the Sheriff’s Department said that Kardiak is suspected to have killed Lyons before killing himself.
