MORE DETAILS ON CRASH THAT INJURED THREE TWENTYNINE PALMS SAILORS

The California Highway Patrol has released the identities of the victims of, and details about, a single-car rollover crash Tuesday night. Cesar Bidorosa, 23, a hospitalman assigned to the Naval hospital on board the Combat Center, was driving a silver 2001 Acura north on Lear Avenue at 9:25 p.m. at 60 miles per hour.

As he passed Pole Line Road, the paved road became a dirt road, and Bidorosa braked hard in an attempt to slow down. The Acura swerved from side to side, and slid sideways into the 2-foot tall berm on the east side of the road. The car kept going into the open desert, crossing a dry wash, and becoming airborne, before overturning several times, finally coming to rest on its wheels back on the road. Bidorosa sustained moderate injuries and was taken to Hi-Desert Medical Center. His front-seat passenger, Sharina Colter, 20, also a hospital man assigned to the Naval hospital, suffered minor injuries and was also taken to Hi-Desert.

The rear passenger, Henry Prado, 21, another sailor stationed at the Twentynine Palms Marine Base, was not wearing a seatbelt and sustained major traumatic injuries. He was airlifted to Desert Hospital in Palm Springs.
