The 58th annual Miss Yucca Valley Pageant was held Saturday night at the Joshua Springs Thunderdome. Destinee Dewett, a 16-year-old honor-roll student, took the crown from a field of eight contestants. The Yucca Valley Rotary Club, who took over the pageant and made it scholarship-based in 1998, produced the pageant under the direction of John Babrowski. Along with Dewett, the 2020 court includes 1st Princess Katie Alexander; 2nd Princess Skye Hansen; and 3rd Princess Trinity Dudra. Named as Miss Photogenic was Taylie Staten; Miss Congeniality was Katie Alexander; and the essay winner was Destinee Dewett. The emcee was Z107.7 Radio personality Gary Daigneault.
