After switching to video tours during the last two years due to covid, the Morongo Basin Conservation Association is bringing back their annual Desert-Wise Landscape Tours in a hybrid format. Reporter Heather Clisby has the details …
Every April, the Morongo Basin Conservation Association (MBCA) hosts the popular Desert-Wise Landscape Tours, an opportunity for the public to visit sites that demonstrate creative and effective drought-tolerant landscaping. The last two years, the tours moved online due to covid concerns. This year, the tours are scaled back to just five sites, with additional video landscape tours coming in June.
The tour will take place on Sunday, April 24, from 9:00 am. until 4 p.m., and includes home sites in Joshua Tree, Yucca Valley, and Flamingo Heights. There will also be docent-led tours at the demonstration gardens at Joshua Basin Water District and the Mojave Desert Land Trust.
To register, visit MBConservation.org or go directly to the Mojave Desert Land Trust between 9:00 a.m. and noon on the tour day.
