Thought Theatre received a DTL nomination for Supporting Actor Doran Ray in the drama “A Particle of Dread (Oedipus Variations).” The Hi-Desert Cultural Center received 38 total nominations. For its youth theater production “Disney’s Alice in Wonderland Jr.,” nods went to director Howard Shangraw, supporting actress Aaliyah Broussard, plus design nods for lighting, costumes, hair, and makeup. In the drama category, “Going to a Place Where You Already Are” is up for outstanding production, plus lead actor Howard Shangraw and supporting actor William Hart. Two comedies are honored; the first is “Coming Attractions,” with its director Shangraw nominated; two lead actors, Ben Bees and Haley Kooymann; and two supporting actors, Hannah Osgood and Jericho McWilliams. The comedy “Every Christmas Story Ever Told…And Then Some!” is up for outstanding production as well as director Rosemary Mallett, lead actor Anderson Williams and supporting actor Michael Lombardo.
In the cabaret category “Love Songs from Broadway” garnered nine nominations, including outstanding production, direction by Shangraw, and musical direction by Nelms McKelvain. Lead males Scott Clinkscales and Jericho McWilliams, lead females Analisa Pilecki and Haley Kooyman, and supporting nominations for Ben Bees and Jasmine Schaffer. Two staged readings, “Heroes” and “Closing Credits: An Evening with Frank Capra,” share another 11 nominations.
