DESERT ORACLE RADIO MARKS ITS 100TH EPISODE IN A SOLD-OUT SHOW

The desert is full of curiosities and wonder, many of which find their way to Ken Layne’s inbox. Layne is the host of Desert Oracle Radio Show and this Friday marks the show’s 100th episode. Reporter Cassidy Zimarik takes us inside the Friday night feature on Z107.7…

It’s 10 p.m. on a Friday night. You turn on your radio to Z107.7 FM and there it is, the iconic spooky sounds and unique stories from Desert Oracle Radio. Hosted by the eclectic Ken Layne, Desert Oracle Radio is set to record its 100th episode on July 17th. The pull to the show is simple:

“People are driving around, on these dark roads at night and if you’re listening to a weird story then you start seeing you know, weird things.”

According to Z107.7’s own Gary Daigneault, the decision to take on Desert Oracle Radio was a good one. “I’ve always been a huge fan of desert Oracle Magazine, and when Ken approached Z107.7 about making it a weekly radio show, I thought, ‘what a great idea to bring the delightfully quirky Desert Oracle Radio to the Morongo Basin and the rest of the world.’”

The 100th episode of Desert Oracle Radio will be recorded live Friday in a sold-out show at Pappy and Harriet’s in Pioneertown. You can catch Desert Oracle Radio every Friday at 10 p.m. on Z107.7 FM.

Ken Layne will be on the Z107.7 Up Close Show Friday morning at 10 a.m. Tune in to Z107.7 and call in with your weird, spooky, or quirky stories about living in the desert.
