Dawn Davis is the host of “Desert Lady Diaries,” a podcast series in which she has interviewed more than 100 women from the Morongo Basin. During tonight’s second Friday lecture at the Old Schoolhouse Museum in Twentynine Palms, Davis will discuss some of the women who have come to the desert and why—from the original homesteaders who came for their health, women who came to teach their children, spouses whose Marines were stationed at the Combat Center, and those who simply came to escape the stress of city life. Davis will also discuss podcasting. Doors open at 6:15 p.m. tonight and the lecture starts at 7 p.m. Admission is $5. The museum is located on Cottonwood Drive in Twentynine Palms.
