DESERT HOT SPRINGS SOBRIETY CHECKPOINT NETS 28 CITATIONS, NO DUI DRIVERS

No drunk or drugged drivers were arrested during the Desert Hot Springs Police Department DUI/driver’s license checkpoint Friday night. Police screened 605 vehicles between 8 p.m. and 1 a.m. in the 13700 block of Palm Avenue; of those vehicles, police cited or arrested 14 drivers for driving with a suspended or revoked license; 14 other citations were issued and two vehicles were impounded. The checkpoint was funded by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety.
