DESERT HOT SPRINGS MAN STOPPED IN JOSHUA TREE WITH STOLEN CAR, GUN

A Desert Hot Springs man was arrested in Joshua Tree Tuesday afternoon, accused of driving a stolen car. According to a Sheriff’s report, the California Highway Patrol stopped a 2003 Toyota in the 61700 block of 29 Palms Highway in Joshua Tree about 1:30 p.m. Inside the car was Ryan Gilbert, 24, along with a gun. CHP officers requested assistance from Sheriff’s deputies, and Ryan Gilbert was arrested on suspicion of possession of a stolen vehicle, and possession of narcotics, as well as on an arrest warrant from Richland County. Gilbert was booked into the Morongo Basin Jail with his bail set at $50,000.
