DESERT HOT SPRINGS MAN ACCUSED OF SELLING DRUGS IN YUCCA VALLEY

A Desert Hot Springs man was arrested last week, accused of dealing drugs in Yucca Valley. Sheriff’s Deputy Dennis Tollefson said he was conducting a check around the Yucca Valley Library just before 8 p.m. Tuesday. Tollefson saw a man, later identified as Ryan Elm, 22, standing near the rear door of the closed library. Tollefson determined that Elm was drunk and Elm refused the deputy’s commands to put his backpack on the ground. Instead, Elm pulled a small baggie out of the backpack and placed it in his sweatshirt pocket. Tollefson searched Elm and found $174 in cash and the baggie, which contained 15 Xanax pills, which Elm said he was selling for $5 each. Ryan Elm was arrested for investigation of possession of a controlled substance for sales, driving on a suspended license, and driving under the influence, booked into the Morongo Basin Jail, with his bail set at $100,000. He was released on bail Saturday afternoon.
