The landmark “Desert Christ Park” in Yucca Valley has seen better days. Reporter Mike Lipsitz says a volunteer foundation is looking for help in its maintenance and restoration…
Desert Christ Park—a museum of sculptures—overlooks Yucca Valley and features more than 40 snow-white statues and images spanning several acres and portraying scenes from the New Testament. A foundation oversees park administration. The beauty of this inspiring sculpture garden is completely maintained by volunteers. Spaces are open for gardeners and anyone able to assist with grounds maintenance. To volunteer, call 760-365-3984 or 760-369-4505. The park is located on Sunnyslope Drive just east of Mohawk Trail, and on Facebook at Desert Christ Park Foundation.
