Morongo Basin Sheriff’s deputies have made at least one arrest and recovered tens of thousands of dollars in stolen property this week. According to Sherriff’s Department press releases, deputies served a search warrant Tuesday at a home near the intersection of Sunny Sands Drive and Wesley Road. Deputies were investigating multiple residential burglaries in the Morongo Basin. While no suspects were at the home at the time of the search, deputies recovered more than $40,000 worth of property related to 11 burglaries, including several vehicles, a Conex container, tools, and other personal property. Multiple victims have been identified, and the Sheriff’s Department is returning the recovered stolen items to the proper owners.

And in a follow-up investigation, deputies served a search warrant at a home in the 58200 block of Campanula Street in Yucca Valley about 11:30 a.m. Tuesday where they contacted Christopher Morgan, 39, who was suspected of possessing a stolen vehicle. Deputies found a stolen Jeep, along with property stolen during six residential burglaries, worth about $10,000. The recovered stolen property was returned to the rightful owners. Christopher Morgan was arrested for a parole violation and for being in possession of stolen property, booked at the Morongo Basin Jail, and is being held without bail.
