Sheriff’s deputies are investigating an assault that allegedly happened in Yucca Valley Saturday night. According to a Sheriff’s report, the victim notified deputies on Tuesday that he was walking on Airway Avenue just north of Highway 62 about 10:45 p.m. He said four men approached him and one hit him on the back of the head with a baseball bat three to four times, while the others punched him in the face and body. He told deputies he didn’t know who the men were, and that they left in a Gold Nissan Altima. The victim said he took an Uber ride on Sunday to Desert Hospital in Palm Springs to be treated for his injuries, which include lacerations, a black eye, bleeding on his brain, and nerve damage to both shoulders.
