The Sheriff’s Department was called in to investigate when a administrator at a Twentynine Palms school caught a student with a baggy containing a green leafy substance. According to a Sheriff’s report, about 6 p.m. Monday night, a student from Bright Futures in Academy found three water bottles filled with “marijuana” in a field near his house. He gave two of the bottles to his mother and kept the third for his personal use. The boy told the deputy he smoked some Monday night and some Tuesday morning, but didn’t feel high. The report states that the boy brought the substance to school to give away. The deputy informed the student that the leaves in the water bottle were not marijuana, but an unknown plant. The deputy also called the mother and advised her of the same.
