DEPUTIES ARREST FATHER, SON FOR DRUGS AND ASSAULT IN TWENTYNINE PALMS

A Twentynine Palm man, wanted on a warrant for assault, and his father, suspected of being a drug dealer, were arrested Wednesday. Deputies went to a home in the 83400 block of Amboy Road in Twentynine Palms just before 2 p.m. with a warrant for the arrest of Joseph Gonzalez, 29, who is wanted for felony assault. On February 15, deputies say that Gonzalez punched and kicked a man who told him to leave his property as he was trespassing. When deputies arrived, they found Gilbert in the front yard and arrested him. Deputies also located methamphetamine in his possession. Deputies got another search warrant for the home, and found another two ounces of meth inside. Gonzalez’s father, Gilbert Gonzalez, 52, was arrested for investigation of possession of methamphetamine for sales, booked in to the Morongo Basin Jail, with his bail set at $50,000. Joseph Gonzalez was arrested on his warrant for assault, booked into the Morongo Basin Jail, with his bail set at $100,000.
