DEPUTIES ARE SEARCHING FOR WOMAN INVOLVED IN BOTCHED ARMED ROBBERY OF YUCCA VALLEY LIQUOR STORE

Deputies are searching for a Desert Hot Springs woman they believe was involved in a botched armed robbery of a Yucca Valley liquor store last week. Merisa Robinson, 19, entered the Triangle Liquor store about 7 p.m. Tuesday, December 10, to check it out before her companions, Anthony Kamakeeaina, 19, and Odell Shidie, 21, attempted to rob the store. After she left the store, Kamakeeaina and Shidie confronted two clerks outside the store and forced them into the store at gunpoint. There was a struggle and Shidie fired one round from a handgun; no one was injured. The three then fled in a silver Nissan. Kamakeeaina was arrested Wednesday in Morongo Valley by a deputy who saw him driving the Nissan. Shidie was arrested in Desert Hot Springs followed an hours-long standoff with police. Anyone with information on Merisa Robinson should call the Sheriff’s Department at 760-366-4175.
