DEDICATION OF TWENTYNINE PALMS POST OFFICE TO MAC DUBE SET FOR APRIL 17

The official dedication of the Twentynine Palms post office as the Colonel M.J. “Mac” Dube USMC Post Office Building is set for Friday, April 17, starting at 8 a.m. Congressman Paul Cook of Yucca Valley authored a bill-signed by the president last December-to rename the post office in honor of Dube. Before his death last April, Dube served as a Marine for 38 years-earning four Purple Hearts, four Bronze Stars with Combat V, and a Silver Star-and served as chief of staff at the Marine Corps Air-Ground Combat Center before retiring. Dube also served as mayor of Twentynine Palms three times, and was a field representative for County Supervisor Bill Postmus.
