A Joshua Tree man was arrested Saturday, after he threatened to kill a woman. Deputies were called to the 6100 block of Valley View in Joshua Tree about 3:20 p.m. because a man, later identified as Angel Gutierrez, 23, had a knife and had threatened to stab a woman. Witnesses said he had also threatened to stab the woman the night before as well. Gutierrez tried fleeing when deputies arrived but was detained without incident, and deputies found two knives on his person. Angel Gutierrez was arrested for investigation of making criminal threats, booked into West Valley Detention Center, with his bail set at $50,000.
