DEADLINE TO REGISTER TO VOTE IN JUNE THIRD ELECTION TODAY

What is the voter registration deadline? Where can you drop off a mail ballot? Reporter Dan Stork has the answers…
The deadline for voter registration for the June 3 primary election is today, May 19. Mailed registration forms must be postmarked no later than May 19, 2014 in order to be valid for this election. Citizens may register to vote online on the Secretary of State’s website at www.registertovote.ca.gov. Registration forms are also available at the Elections Office and throughout San Bernardino County at post offices, libraries, offices of city clerks, and the Department of Motor Vehicles. If you are registered to vote by mail—as are about half of all registered voters—you should have received your mail ballot by now. If you sent it back by U.S. mail, note that the postage is 70 cents. You can also drop your mail ballot off in person at Yucca Valley Town Hall, Twentynine Palms City Hall, or the Joshua Tree Branch Library on or before Tuesday, June 3. On election day, you may also drop a mail ballot off at any polling place.
