The deadline to enter Z107.7’s annual holiday decorating contest, a tradition that sees Basin businesses enter a friendly competition to bring out the holiday spirit, is tomorrow. Up to eight businesses will win local advertising worth hundreds, a cool certificate, and bragging rights. It’s a great way to kindle holiday spirit and jumpstart local shopping. The contest is free to enter. Awards go to first and second place winners for both best interior and exterior in both large- and small-space categories. Judges will rate entries on “Overall Theme, Inventiveness and Appeal,” “Use of Space, Lights and Color,” and “Wow Factor.” Painted windows do not qualify. First place winners receive a $250 ad package and a month’s presence on z1077fm.com, now viewed by over 45,000 consumers monthly. CONTEST SPECIFICS
Judging is on a 10-point scale for five criteria:
“Overall Appeal,” “Use of Space,” “Use of Lights & Color,” “Inventiveness & Overall Theme,” and “Wow Factor.”
Painted windows do not qualify for this contest.
Judging will be done in 4 categories:
SMALL BUSINESS (up to 1,500 square feet)
Best Interior
Best Exterior
LARGE BUSINESS (1,500 square feet or over)
Best Interior
Best Exterior
Awards will be given for 1st and 2nd place entrees in all four categories. The judging is done on artistic merit; the decision of the judges is final.
First place winners receive $250.00 in radio advertising from Z107.7 Radio and website presence for a month on www.z1077fm.com, now viewed by over 45,000 consumers monthly!
Second Place winners receive $150.00 in radio advertising from Z107.7 Radio and two weeks on www.z1077fm.com. Some restrictions apply; see * below.
There is no charge to enter; call Z107-7 Radio at 760-366-8471 and tell us the name and location of your business and what category you are entering.
Entries must be located in the “Morongo Basin,” defined as from Morongo Valley to the west, Wonder Valley to the east, north to Johnson Valley, and south to the border of Joshua Tree National Park.
Deadline to enter is 5 p.m. December 15, 2017.
Winners will be announced December 22, 2017.
