To be eligible for selection to the county grand jury, a person must be at least 18 years of age, a citizen of the United States, and a resident of California and the County of San Bernardino for at least one year prior to appointment. Service as a grand juror involves an average of three to five full working days per week in San Bernardino, starting July 1, for one year. Compensation is $25 per day plus meals and appropriate mileage. The county grand jury investigates all aspects of county, city and special district government, and may hear information on certain criminal investigations. Interested citizens can complete the application online at the Grand Jury’s website at sbcounty.gov/grandjury. The deadline to apply has been extended to March 17.
