The deadline for military veterans to apply for a new home in Twentynine Palms is October 15. The home is a project of the non-profit organization Desert Communities Fuller Center for Housing, and will be built by professional contractors and volunteers in two days in November. The home will carry a 25- to 30-year zero interest loan for the selected family. Applicants must fall within income limits based on family size. The veteran does not have to be retired from the military; just to have served and been honorably discharged.
