The suspect in a shooting at Motel 6 in Twentynine Palms early this morning has been found deceased. Deputies who responded about 3:30 a.m. to a report of shots fired at the motel on the highway in Twentynine Palms were shot at by the suspect. The deputies were not injured. The shooting caused law enforcement to shut down Highway 62 in front of the motel for several hours this morning. Homicide has been called in to investigate the shooting. The victim has not yet been identified. Z107.7 News will update this story when more information becomes available.
